    Things Underscored in 2012

    1.      Depth in His Word, Elevation in Understanding - Depth and Height: When there is a deep and sustained plunge into the Word of God, there is an elevation by God in your spiritual comprehension.

Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 1 Cor 2:10

    2.     The Sovereignty of God in Time: God is the King of Kings and the LORD of Lords - He rules over empires and kingdoms, and determines their set times and places.

And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwelling: Acts 17:26-27

    3.     Prophecy is relational - Daniel and John received their greatest revelation in their old age, after a lifetime of committed, sustained, following of the Lord.

    4.     Authority is relational and "authority" (legitimacy) is given over "power" (what satan and his minions have). You only have spiritual authority to the extent you are under His authority - body, soul and spirit. - See Luke 7:2

    5.     Angels are logistical agents of God - they minister healing etc...from God. Their function is to help us realise our purpose on earth. We can ask God to send them. We should.

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve those who are going to inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14

    6.     Discipline and Commitment through Study: Without an understanding of the OT and timelines, there can be no proper grasp of prophecy. Culture and context is important. This requires Study. The principle of reaping what you sow is very evident here.

    7.     His Presence: When saints faithfully gather in His name, without any agenda other than to seek Him in Word and Worship, He turns up and works wonders.

    8.     Lawlessness in us takes many forms but centres round in the breaching of boundaries. It can include

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Jude 1:6

    a.     Sluggardly / Laziness - because we were created to be fruitful.

Go to the ant, you slacker! Observe its ways and become wise. Proverbs 6:6.

    b.    Disrespect and Dishonour of others - their schedules, commitments, status and authority in Christ. We are all equal in worth but we are not equal in wisdom, apprehended authority or experience. De jure, equal; de facto, how much we have appropriated. Dishonour is a refusal to recognise 'hierarchy' and this egalitarian impulse is located in the Serpent's Song (Isaiah 14). This does not mean we are unequal in worth; it means we are to accord honour to those whom God has set over us as our shepherds, teachers, parents etc....and in so doing, we honour God. This is not abject subjection because those in authority lose authority when they do not act under His authority - so its really a question of trust.

    c.      How we use our tongues: whether we are conscious that we do not belong to ourselves but to Him.

    d.     Cowardice - this is proof of assimilation - unto lawlessness: the inability to defend boundaries.

    e.     An attitude of "Lord send her" rather than "Lord, here I am, send me" (Isaiah 6), which is a continual rejection of the call to arise unto destiny. People disqualify themselves by their attitudes in their hearts and the words in their mouths.

    9.     Mixed seeds - God calls us to separate and Come out of Babylon. There are only two options

    a)   Assimilation, Captivity, Loss of destiny

    b)   Coming out, taking captive, destiny apprehended.

You are to keep My statutes. You must not crossbreed two different kinds of your livestock, sow your fields with two kinds of seed, or put on a garment made of two kinds of material." Leviticus 19:19

    10.  The Centrality of Israel in God's scheme of things: the danger of dividing the land, the 1948 restoration, the 1967 reunification and now, Psalm 83 confederacy. Obadiah, Genesis 12 - and God's faithfulness to His promise to Abraham.
