Issachar Gazette: Common Sense in an Age of Vain Ideology
Abre mis ojos
The account of Sodom's destruction is in Genesis 18-19. Key points to note:
(1) God does not hide what He is to do from His prophets: vv 17-18
(2) Gravity: "the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great" as their sin was "very grievous" (v20)
(3) Abraham intercedes "Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?" (v23) Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? (v25) - 50 to 10.
(4) Lot: from the "plain" oriented towards Sodom to the gate of Sodom (place of authority; Lot wanted significance so got into bed with sodomites - compromised his identity) - sojourner to judge they mocked!
(5) People of Sodom wanted to "know" the 2 angels/visitors i.e. rape.
(6) Lot so compromised - offered his 2 daughters "do ye to them as is good in your eyes; only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof."(v8)
(7) Struck with blindness (judgment) but did not cease groping the door (blind and groping!) Cannot take warning.
(8) Sons in law could not take warning.
(9) entire cities are punished- warning to get out : Lot was warned as morning dawned, "but he lingered" - The Lord's mercy - seized by the men
(10) Go to hills but Lot wanted to go to little city (Zoar)

(11) Wine and Incest (Dionysus)
In Egyptian mythology, the gods frequently married their siblings. For example, Shu and Tefnut are brother and sister and they produced another pair of gods, Geb and Nut. Their children were Isis, Osiris, Set and Nephthys; Isis married Osiris, and Set Nephthys.
King Arthur - half sister Morgause - Mordred - ultimate nemesis
Biblical references to Sodom
1) A proudful declaration/celebration of sin - gay "pride"
Isaiah 1: 7-8 8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
2. Comparison to "Worst Practices"
Romans 9:29 And just as Isaiah foretold, "UNLESS THE LORD OF SABAOTH HAD LEFT TO US A POSTERITY, WE WOULD HAVE BECOME LIKE SODOM, AND WOULD HAVE RESEMBLED GOMORRAH."
3. Judgment of the Nations
Matt 10:15 I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
4. Sodom as Precedent - Extinction - making an example of what happens to the ungodly - God cannot be mocked.
2 Peter 2:6 if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;
Amos 4:11 I overthrew some of you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a brand plucked out of the burning; yet you did not return to me,” declares the LORD.

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
