    First Trumpet: Hail, hail.

     

     

     

     

     

    First Trumpet 

     

     

     

     

    "The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up." (Revelation 8:6-7)

      

    Summary

    the war in heaven will spill over onto the earth, and the seraphim will begin to afflict a third of society, a third of the earth’s political leaders, and all of the evil men in the land

     

    Hail as symbol of judgment during war

     

    §       “Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail, which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle?” (Job 38:22-23)

    The Earth

     

    §       Symbol of those who are judged: Isaiah 26:20-21 cf: Christians  are "of the light" (1 Thess 5:5)

    §       Symbol of Israel?

    §       Beast of the Earth (Rev) - Jewish false prophet (Isa) who will tell Jewish world to worship 12th Imam (Islamic messiah)

    §       Symbol of global society (of the earth v of the sea: unstable)

     

    Trees

     

    §       Symbol of political leaders e.g. Nebuchadnezzar (Dan 4:20-22)

    §       Olive trees, fig trees, vine, thorn bush (anti-christ)

    §        

     

    Green grass: common people

     

    §       All men like grass: Isaiah 40:6-7; Psalm 37:1-2

    §       'Burn' means 'seraph' (flaming angels) = judgment by death (burning of dead bodies) - Isaiah 33:10-13 (Seraph root word is "Sar" which is Prince) - Dan 12:1

    §       The burning and scattering of men is apparently what we see happening at the sounding of the first trumpet
